There are many strategies that will help you to plan your YouTube or podcast channel in order to find an audience. While none of them are guaranteed, we can put you on a good path to find your niche, build your audience, and create a community that will help you meet your online goals.
We can teach you about the strategies and tools that we use, let you know what other options and resources are available to you, and give you tips for getting the most out of your time and budget constraints.
Good content is good content, regardless of the form it takes. It needs to be engaging, understandable and memorable, but most of all it needs to be useful to the audience. Sometimes that utility is just entertainment value, but more often it is also informative or educational. We can help you create content that is both engaging (interesting/entertaining) and useful (informational/educational). What really makes online content unique, however, is the manner in which it is accessed and consumed. Because there is so much content available online, it’s critically important for it to be engaging. If it isn’t, your audience can simply “change the channel” and watch or listen to something else. This is the opposite of traditional presentations and training, where you often quite literally had a captive audience.
The other big difference with online content is that there is usually an editing (or post-production) phase, in which mistakes can be corrected and additional video or audio content can be added. While it’s possible to work on this second phase completely separately from the content development and delivery phases, it’s useful to develop your content with future corrections and additional content in mind.
Most people have some level of nervousness or fear when it comes to speaking in front of a group. This is quite natural, and it’s something that we’ve been helping people understand and manage for years. Speaking to a nonexistent future group has its own challenges. Instead of feeling nervous or scared, most people just feel awkward and self-conscious when speaking to a camera or into a microphone. This is also natural, as we’re used to talking to people, not to devices. Speaking without an audience can also make it very hard to connect with this invisible future audience. It’s extremely important that you do connect with your online audience, so we teach you easy and effective principles and techniques to make sure that your audience feels that you are speaking directly with them.
